My Services
For Corporate Clients
Presentations
I offer two different presentations. The first provides advice on hiring and supporting staff with a disability, while the second is designed for businesses such as hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and hospitals and details the best practices when assisting disabled customers.
I offer both face-to-face consultations or, where travel is not always possible, I’m happy to deliver presentations via zoom. Where possible I share my personal experiences so that companies may get an idea of best practice. The sessions are very fluid as I encourage people to ask as many questions as possible. My motto is if you don’t ask you won’t learn.

One-to-One Sessions
If you’ve already hired someone with a disability, I’m available for one-to-one telephone consultations to discuss any questions or concerns you might have. These might include:
- What specialist equipment might be required to assist the disabled member of staff in carrying out their job.
- Any simple adjustments or modifications that could make it easier for them to navigate their place of work.
- How to go about receiving funding to help with any costs incurred by the above.
- Anything else at all you’d like to discuss that relates to hiring someone with a disability.

For Schools and Colleges
These sessions tend to be more practical and allow young people to satisfy their curiosity as much as they can, since I believe that is the best way for them to learn. Students are encouraged to ask me as many questions as possible in order to broaden their own knowledge. Although the sessions focus on visual impairment, everything students learn can be applied to disabilities in general. For example, keeping a clear floor is just as important for somebody in a wheelchair as for somebody with sight loss.
Sessions can include:
- True or false quizzes so students can learn about some of the most common misconceptions associated with visual impairment and other disabilities.
- Role-playing activities with students such as blindfolding some or stuffing their ears with cotton wool so that they can experience what it’s like to have no Vision or impaired hearing.
- Demonstrating the correct way to guide a visually impaired person, usually with the teacher as my companion.
- Showing students some of the equipment that assists me in my everyday life .

Please see above for more details on the topics these presentations cover.
Would you like to book me to speak at your social club or organisation? I’m available to provide talks on any subject pertaining to disability and visual impairment in particular. My talks could include but wouldn’t be limited to:
- The challenges people with disabilities face in their every day lives.
- The advances in technology that have gone so far in making their lives easier.
- How you might assist a disabled person if you were to encounter them in the street.
- A Q&A session where I can answer any queries you might have.
